Do I need to be a Python developer to attend?
No. PyCon Namibia is a technology conference for developers, IT professionals, businesses, industry, government, educators and students. Python is at the heart of the programme, but many talks, the jobs fair and the exhibition are relevant to anyone working with technology.
Where is the conference held?
The main conference takes place at NIPAM, the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management, in Windhoek.
Is the venue accessible for people with disabilities?
Yes, our venues are wheelchair accessible. If you have specific requirements, email us so we can help.
Can I get financial help to attend?
Yes. Opportunity Grants help people who would otherwise be unable to attend with the cost of travel, accommodation and registration. Grants are paid as reimbursements: you book and pay for your own travel, then claim the approved amount back after the conference, with receipts. Applications close on 21 October 2026. Can I get a visa support letter?
Yes, for confirmed attendees. Request the letter at least one week before you submit your visa application, and make sure every detail matches your passport. The request form is on the Visa page.
Where should I stay?
Windhoek has hotels, guesthouses and hostels at every budget, many within a short drive of NIPAM.
How do I get to Windhoek?
Fly into Hosea Kutako International Airport, about 45 minutes from the city centre. Taxis and shuttle services meet every flight.
Can students attend Education Day?
Yes. Education Day runs over two days: one for high school learners at Jakob Marengo Tutorial College, and one for university students. Both include hands-on workshops and a few selected talks.
